WHAT COMMUNICATIONS OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE? WHEN SHOULD THEY BE USED?
The M4200 mobile terminal family currently has both Bluetooth and GSM/GPRS communication options available. When configured with Bluetooth technology, the M4200 communicates with a free sight distance of 100 meters (328 feet) and excels in shopping malls, kiosks, hospitality and seasonal shops. The expanded range of the GSM/GPRS option is suited to mobile services such as delivery / field services, professional events, transportation and field sales.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE DEVICE IS NOT WITHIN RANGE OF A GSM/GPRS TOWER?
The M4200 family supports Store & Forward functionality. When not in range of a GSM/GPRS tower, the M4200 will accept the transaction and print a receipt. Once the terminal re-engages with the network, it will transmit any stored transaction for authorization
DOES THE OPTIMUM M4230 READ BOTH CHIP AND MAGNETIC STRIPE CARDS?
Yes. The Optimum M4230 terminal has a standard Triple Track (1,2,3) magnetic strip reader and can be ordered with an optional chip card reader with three SAM slots.
WHAT ARE THE PRINTER CAPABILITIES?
The Optimum M4230 terminal features fast receipt printing with 15+ lines-per-second of text and graphics. The printer’s SureLoad™ clamshell allows easy drop-in paper loading.
HOW LONG DOES THE BATTERY LAST BETWEEN CHARGES?
The Optimum M4230 can handle over 200 transactions on a single charge with an extended life battery that lasts up to 8 hours (over 10 hours of standby time)
